Color, line weight, and typography guidelines are listed below.
Typography
- Title, x and y axis, labels, and legend are Avenir Regular.
- Bar/graph labels are Avenir Medium
Construction
- Title, x and y axis labels, and legend are black. Bar/graph labels are 60% black
- 0 point x and y axis “L” rule is black, include horizontal grid lines only, half the weight of “L” rules and in 30% black
- Simplify charts and graphs, omitting unnecessary boxes around chart heads or footers.
Color
Use primary and secondary color palette, if additional colors are needed choose clean, mid-range colors, no grayed color, no pastels.
Graph Examples
Legend may be placed inside or outside of the figure, avoid placing key on top of chart or graph data and/or grid lines.
